Crabtree Starbreaker new product launch – CSB1122

A consumer unit, also known as a fuse board or electrical fusebox, distributes electricity from the mains supply to individual circuits around a property. It acts as the control centre for the power supply while helping to prevent electrical shocks and fires, as each circuit is monitored and will trip the system if any overloads are detected. A distribution board typically includes a main switch which can be used to manually turn the power off and on if required to isolate the supply. Various devices be them RCBO’s or MCB’s are then fitted according to the requirements of the building and the occupants.

With everyone looking for the cheapest board possible, Crabtree have launched a new populated Consumer Unit which comes loaded with SPD and RCBO’s and is very cost effective when compared to the likes of Fusebox and Live.

The CSB1122 is:

Supplied with 1 x CRT2SPD/P and 1 x 100A DP isolator and a full complement of earth and neutral terminals along with marking labels, busbar and instructions

The Crabtree Platinum range offers a modern contemporary design, whilst being easy to fit and benefit from concealed fixings. They are a perfect first or second fix solution and offer wide concave rockers. The positive drive switch action prevents balancing between the on and off position which gives a reliable view of the contact position.

The range is available in 4 colours. Satin Chrome, Highly Polished Chrome, Black Nickel and Polished Brass and we have the complete range including Grid and Modular switches.

Trend wise, the clear favourite among the customers is the Satin Chrome range, but we are again seeing the polished brass come back in to fashion.

Why do we sell the Crabtree Platinum range over other cheaper ranges?

The answer is plain and simple. Quality! We recently supplied a different brand to a regular customer of ours purely based on price. Once they had complete the job, they rang us and explicitly told us, “If I ask for that range again, DON’T supply them to me!”

He said the plates could be pulled off by hand once fitted, the overall feel was cheap compared to the Crabtree. He said himself, “Buy cheap, buy twice!”

If you are looking at a cheaper range than the Crabtree Platinum Screwless Range, our advice would be to maybe not look at a screwless range and look at decorative screwed range like the BG Nexus.
